This is why the technology behind out website design constantly changes, in recent years we have made sure all of our websites are compatible with smart phones, to do this we have started using more javascript than flash so animated menus and slideshows will display on iPhones, iPads, desktop computers, laptops, web TVs and game consoles. When designing an iPhone app or iPad app we have to look at it in a completely different way to designing a website.  We have to take into consideration features such as touch screen and limited memory size, plus we have to future proof the apps so they will work with future releases of the iOS and they are backwards compatable. So when we design for the iPhone 4 which uses iOS 4.0 we make sure it is compatable with the original iPhone running iOS 2.0 , iPhone 3 and the iPhone 3Gs both running iOS 3.0.
