Project Description
iPhone & Android App for creating Photo Books
MGT Design were given to opportunity to pitch for creating an App for a local business lady, Julia Harris. The original idea was to create an app to create a photo book, and to create the book with as little options as possible. So we came up with the idea of creating 6 initial templates which would all be design to fit many categories. Throughout the development other ideas were added, creating a delay on the original launch but a much better app. Sharing with friends was added, and we created an algorythm to display all images in date order.
Photo Keeper Branding
We came up with many ideas with the name and logo. Originally starting out with Story Books based on the idea of the Photo books telling a story in Photos, but then our client wanted the word ‘photo’ in the brand so we settled on Photo Keeper.
Designing the Octopus
The octopus was born as a Photo Keeper who looks after all of your photos, he is a Hipster who is also into photography and invites you to add to his scrap books.
Designing the Brand Elements
We wanted something on trend, following on from the hipster style of the logo we came up with the coloured strips of wood and old paper look and feel which matched the hand made style of the Photo Book templates.
Finding the right Typeface
We played around with many typefaces and found Monthoers by Swistblink design studio was the best match for the logo as they both carry the same retro vibe.
Photo Filters
We have included various photo filters to help enhance the images going into the photo books.
These include:
Website Design
Web Design and Development with Social Media Branding to promote the App and show off its features.
